$1bn in investor assets missing after FTX collapse

Amid the fallout of the implosion of FTX, once the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange, at least $1bn in investor assets appear to be missing. FTX was missing at least $1bn in client funds. The funds were said to be part of $10bn in client funds that the FTX founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, secretly transferred to Alameda Research, the hedge fund he owns. Investors, particularly Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, learned that much of Alameda’s assets were held in FTT, making the company vulnerable to the currency’s fluctuating value.

Wemade’s Sees $46M Fundraising with Support From Microsoft

Wemade, a major South Korean video game developer, is looking to enter the Web3 gaming space as it has rallied up massive support, along with a recent $46 million fundraising round, to do so. This impressive funding round saw support from Microsoft, as well as Shinhan Asset Management, and Kiwoom Securities.

FIFA Licenses Multiple Web3, NFT Games for World Cup

FIFA has announced a portfolio of Web3 games to entertain football fans ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. It has licensed several projects, including Altered State Machine, which is an AI-powered football game. Players act as the coach and owner of their AI teams, with the aim of improving abilities and trading characters to achieve the best talent combinations. The second game is Upland, a blockchain-based metaverse for buying and selling virtual properties.

‘Symbiogenesis’ is Square Enix’s First NFT Game

Square Enix, one of the biggest names in the gaming sector and the company behind such titles as Final Fantasy, has announced a new NFT project. This new project is called Symbiogenesis and will be an Ethereum-based gaming franchise for the company. The announcement was made via Twitter with a teaser video.

Atari X Is The Latest Web3 Project On The Block

Atari X is the name of the project and is putting Atari as a company firmly into web3. It was announced back in April, and in that time, Atari has been able to muster up a number of key investors and provide updates for their eagerly awaiting fans. Notable collaborators already include the Sandbox virtual reality NFT/crypto game and Nifty Labs as the primary development unit behind the project.
